|Create a Pet demo and game issues|

The Create a Pet tool is a demo tool that was made available yesterday in order to show us pets before the release of The Sims 3 Pets. However, unlike other official tools like Create a Pattern or Create a World, this is not a standalone one and looks like it can cause some issues to the game. We suggest to read the following tips carefully in order to avoid them and enjoy the new Create a Pet tool without bugs!
Known issuesIf you try to start the game after using the Create a Pet tool at least once, the launcher will crash with an error showing version 0.0.0.
In order to avoid the issues BEFORE it appears, we suggest you to follow our tips from Before launching the Create a Pet tool. If you have already done it, well, just go and read The damage is done paragraph.

How to play TS3 after using the Create a Pet toolIf you want to play the game after using the Create a Pet tool, you'll have to do everything backwards:
The Damage Is Done..!If you have already launched the Create a Pet tool without making a backup copy and creating new folders AND are trying to start the game, it probably won't work.
So far we've tested that if you delete some files, in particular Missingdeps within MyDocuments/Electronic Arts/DCCache, the game works again but you'll lose all your Store files and your .sims3packs.
Since moving/deleting the Missingdeps file the game won't load sims3packs anyways, you can also move/delete both DCCache and DCBackup folders, as well as the InstalledWorld one. In the meantime, you'll have to reinstall all your sims3packs, both the ones from the Store and the custom ones.
Our suggestionYou definitely have the right to try the Create a Pet tool, but at the same time, we strongly suggest not to use your saves, especially if you care of them.
Make a backup of your data before installing this new tool, then rename the folder and "freeze" it until the expansion comes out. You can always try and keep a "pre-CAP" copy, but keep in mind that your CC may cause issues, so you know who's to blame if you have troubles.
We'd also like to say something more in order to prepare you.. The Sims 3 Pets adds a lot of new options, and who knows, probably as it happened for The Sims 2 Pets, we'll find that animals cannot interact with old items (i.e. for scratching or destroying objects).
[This is where we got after some early testing and we wanted to share our feedback]
