We need your help to pay our hosting bills! As in the past, we ask your help, read more to get details about our costs and how you can contribute... Notice: remember that PayPal applies a fee of 0.35€ as fixed cost per transaction plus the 10% of each donation... for example, if you donate 1€ I will receive 0,60€. -------****------- Our sites have grown a lot since the opening in 2005. Over these years, we asked your help to pay our bills some times. We hope you can help us again, and cover a part of our costs.During this year (2010) I've had some health problems, so I paid my bills without asking you for money or checking how much I was spending, because my attention was focused on other issues. Now we are in November, so it's time to make an assessment. As for now, we are provided with a sponsored hosting. Usually, a hosting of this kind is free, but as we use a remarkable quantity of resources, they work out an average between how they earn from our site's ads and what we should pay for the resources used, then they ask us to pay the difference (more or less). 2009 we did only one donation target, earning about 500€. We spent nearly 600€. During 2010 our use of resources has decreased, so we use (more or less) 1.000GB bandwidth a month. We're working on optimizing our sites in order to reduce our consumption. Considering what we have spent so far, our expenses for the current year should be over 700€, of which we pay about a half. We also attended a few events, and they cost money too. Sure, these are "pleasant costs", but it's always money. Here below you can find a small scheme of our bills for 2010 (budget for November and December included):
Basically, we should pay 700something euros, but we'll only pay 430 for 2010. The remaining cost for the last year and the events cost are something we can "handle", but according to the plan above, if we could earn about 480€ from your support, we'd be totally grateful. Despite the past, I'm not saying that if we don't reach this amount, the site will close - I've already paid that money. I'm hoping you can help us as you already did in the past, as even with only 1€ per person, we'd reach our targeted amount. It takes very little to reach it. Anyhow, if I don't make it, I'll probably think twice next year before paying, and perhaps I may remove some services. So, I'm opening a donation drive of 480€.
